Do you remember our Digital Transformation Index? This index surveyed 4.600 business leaders from companies across the globe to score their organizations’ transformation efforts. Our two-year comparison highlights that the progress has been slow. We see no progress at the top (Digital Leaders), while the percentage of Digital Adopters has increased slowly (from 14% to 23%, 2016-2018). All say that cloud is and will be a game changer.
More than a destination
The cloud has become fundamental to enable organizations to move faster toward their business goals. For many organizations, the increasingly diverse cloud landscape is resulting in an enormous amount of IT complexity. According to IDC, more than 70% of companies are using multiple cloud environments! “But you need to remember that cloud is not a destination, it’s an operating model”, says Jeff Clarke, Vice Chairman of products and operations, Dell Technologies.
Importance of Partnerships
We are constantly expanding our partnerships to address a wider range of customer needs and help accelerate digital transformations. Think of the collaboration with Microsoft Azure. And in general Dell Technologies Cloud– a combination of the power of VMware and Dell EMC infrastructure – is a new set of cloud infrastructure solutions to make hybrid cloud environments simpler to deploy and manage.
As the future-of-work concept becomes a reality for organizations worldwide, employees demand the flexibility to work, collaborate and innovate anytime, anywhere and in any way they want. In this digital transformation journey one enabler is the cloud; a second one is our Unified Workspace. It helps the IT department to transform the end-user experience. This visionary approach to end-user computing will give workers a frustration-free, ready-to-work experience, while enabling IT with automated, open and intelligent solutions for unified management.
