ISCA Luxembourg will welcome Dr. Sebastien Varrette, who currently leads University of Luxembourg's High-Performance Computing Center, for an exclusive conference to be held on September 20th. The association will also celebrate its 10th anniversary. Prior to the event, we met with its president, Roland Bastin (photo), to discuss the main missions of the association.
Can you tell us about the upcoming event which will take place on September 20th to celebrate your 10th anniversary?
This event will be a fantastic opportunity to bring together the Isaca Luxembourg community and more generally the IT professionals involved in IT Governance, IT Audit, IT Risk and IT Security, and celebrate the 10 year of ISACA Luxembourg.
We are pleased to announce the participation of Dr. Sebastien Varrette, who, along with Dr. Pascal Bouvry, leads University of Luxembourg (UL)'s High-Performance Computing Center. Sebastien's field of expertise covers High-Performance Modeling and Simulation for Big Data Applications and Analytics, Cloud Computing systems, HPC safety and security as well as GDPR applied to HPC. Dr. Sebastien Varrette is a research associate at the University of Luxembourg (UL). Expert in the deployment and management of High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, Sebastien, along with Prof. Pascal Bouvry, leads the UL HPC platform developments since 2007. His main research interests lie in the domains of security and performance of parallel and distributed computing platforms, such as HPC and Cloud Computing infrastructures. He participates as chair, track chair and committee member on various conferences and events (IEEE CloudNet, CloudCom, OPTIM, PCGrid, ICPADS, IPDPS, HPCS etc.). Sebastien participates in several technical workgroups, EU projects and committees where he represents Luxembourg (Grid5000, ISO/TC 307 "Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies"), PRACE, ETP4HPC, several COST action (IC1305 “Network for Sustainable Ultrascale Computing (NESUS)”. He has also co-authored 4 books and over 9 Computer Science book chapters and over 80 research articles in scientific journals and international conference proceedings.
We expect an extraordinary evening, which will bring us up to speed with Luxembourg's implication in Computing Science and Technology at the European level. It will be a great evening for networking & walking dinner. We hope to see many of you soon.

Continuous professional development is a necessity and ISACA Luxembourg will extend its professional education to include cyber security training (CSX), Internal Audit Analytics, Governance of Enterprise IT, Implementing The General Data Protection Regulation Process.
